Open Access Policy

Pharmaceutical Communications provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

The term Open Access (OA) was introduced collectively by:

  • Budapest Open Access Initiative;

  • Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing; and

  • Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.

Their common ground is referred to as the 'BBB' definition, which defines Open Access to peer-reviewed research literature as 'freely available literature on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download or copy and use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.'

Open access is a new cohort in the digital publishing arena where the author's intrinsic merit of research and scholarly contributions is made available online without any specific charges.

We follow DOAJ's definition of an open-access journal. An open-access journal makes all content freely available to the user without charge to his/her institution.  Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of the articles or use them for any lawful purpose without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.

Manuscripts published in Pharmaceutical Communications are under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY), providing immediate and permanent access for free to all types of original works. The license grants copyrights to the author concerned and makes the articles available for their distribution. Everyone can use the manuscripts in a productive way for the benefit of society. However, the authors are requested to maintain the citation to the original source.

Repository Policy

Pharmaceutical Communications allows authors to deposit all versions of an article for self-archiving (author's personal website) and/or archiving in an institutional repository (on a non-profit server) immediately after publication. The published source must be acknowledged and linked to the journal home page or articles' DOI.

Article Processing Charges

Pharmaceutical Communications has no article processing charges and makes articles available to read without restrictions.

Pharmaceutical Communications publishes all its articles in full open access, meaning unlimited use and reuse of articles, in addition to giving credit to the authors. Our articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license.
